Breakfast Clubbing #16
Week of July 29th. PDX, LDN, BK, CDMX, LV, Hamptons and Manhattan are ON.
The thing about having started the Breakfast Club boulder rolling is that I now get a bunch of unsolicited affirmation every week from folks who’ve taken up the BC mantle in their home zones, and a having fun with it.
Scott’s Post about BC PDX, for instance: “It’s become a high point in the week for many of us, with a chance to see friends and colleagues with no agenda, no pitching, and no talking points. Just some of the smartest and funniest people we know, chopping it up over breakfast. Such a joy. I hope you can join us!”
Or Lauren’s Post about BC LDN this week: “New Venue 🌟 Earlier Time ⏰ This Wednesday in London 🇬🇧 Everyone is invited, especially you 👇 … Come for coffee, stay for conversation about all things creative, strategy, culture, and whatever you like ♥️”
or Radhika’s: “Ben Dietz, a friend and my Clubhouse sponsor, has a fantastic newsletter I've been reading since day one on Ana Andjelic's recommendation. I’m excited to bring his #BreakfastClub to Manhattan [on Aug 1], along with the extraordinary photographer and dance party host, Heidi Hartwig!”
Or even if it’s to note, as Steve did about BC Mexico City : “yo yo we had breakfast club this past wednesday! i'm just a dumbass and forgot to post the report. but a healthy 6 people and we're rolling on this week.”
Haha all good, Steve. No reporting necessary. Keep going!
All of that to say is that a bunch of people are putting energy, thought and experience into this, and it’s exciting, and gratifying. And makes me think there’s more to be done with this community. To that end, I’m happy to announce Camp Cultivate in October, a three-day sojourn to the mountains of Mammoth CA that’s being brought to life by yours truly, the inimitable Friends From New York, Outbound Hotels and more!
In keeping with the spirit of Breakfast Club it’s meant to be a free-ranging moment of connection where people pay their own ways (ie no ticket fees), exchange ideas and inspiration (ie great discussions but no pitches or required agenda) and celebrate (ie party how you want to). It’s gonna be great.
In fact the only un-BC thing part about it is that because of space constraints we can’t invite *everyone* so I wanted to let the BC gang know about it first. If you’re interested in joining or hearing more (or contributing), email me in reply to this note OR leave notice in the comments and I’ll follow up. Would love to see you there. Invite here:
And now, to breakfast….
Breakfast Club’s Esprit de Corps:
Everyone’s invited - especially you. And you can join the group here, too.
Feel free to share, bring friends, colleagues, family, anyone.
No agenda, no required buy-in, no RSVP. And no pitches.
Everyone pays their own way.
You’re welcome to subscribe.

Breakfast Club Milan Report: 7.23.24
Per Charla’s Post: “For our second edition, although our first of many to be hosted in different creative spaces in Milan, we experienced a successful turnout for an early morning discussion.
My part of the conversation revolved around Canada, emphasizing its great attributes and the abundant opportunities it offers for younger generations in education and employment. Other discussions within the group touched on members clubs (with a hint that one is about to open in Milan), Milan communities, and the concept of exclusivity versus inclusivity.
We delved into topics like Kia cars and their rebranding efforts and innovative impacts in Europe and the United States. Conversations also revolved around the dynamics of working with first-time employees, weighing the pros and cons. Naturally, the subject of AI emerged once again, highlighting the increasing need for agencies to incorporate AI services in their offerings.
Branding, a personal favourite topic, was explored, underscoring the importance of branding for new startups and established companies and emphasizing the significance of well-defined brand guidelines executed precisely.
We were fortunate to have a guest from Kenya who dedicates her time, energy, and resources to conserving the black Rhino.
The entrepreneurial spirit of Italy and its northern culture surfaced in the dialogue, reflecting on their perpetual drive and restlessness. While it's a common stereotype that Italians lead the 'bella vita,' the reality in the north is quite different, with Italians working diligently and enjoying leisure activities wholeheartedly.
Discussions also meandered through art and drawings, especially since one of our guests has an upcoming exhibit.
Lastly, but certainly not insignificantly, the discourse veered toward the contrasting presidencies of Trump and Kamala, with hopes that America makes the right decision in the upcoming elections.
A huge shout out to my co-hosts Moritz Gaudlitz Giorgio Bartoli and the OG Ben Dietz
Looking ahead, stay tuned for our next Breakfast Club gathering in September—the location has yet to be determined.”

Per Kat’s Post: 29 people this morning! Today’s incredible summer party was hosted by Kim Mackenzie, founder of Ladies Who Strategize, along with Jeff Weiner Ben Dietz and myself.
It was refreshing to meet so many of the women from Ladies Who Strategize (especially as I've just joined the community myself), with some of whom were meeting for the first time IRL. Honored to have been part of this rare collaboration! Pictured here:

if i had known you were going to quote that lol
I'd help start and LA Breakfast Club if people are interested. Maybe just put it in Hollywood for central appeal.
