Breakfast Clubbing #25
Week of Sept 30. Q4 Begins. ON per usual in PDX, Wmsburg, CDMX, Hamptons, Miami, Manhattan, DTBK, Cincy and Vegas. BACK in Portland, ME. And we are NEW this week in Barcelona and Melbourne. Come hang.
Hi all.
I’m back in NYC this week from attending BC Milano (and a holiday with my wife squeezed in haha) and just have this to say: What hosts all over the world are building with nothing more than enthusiasm and curiosity (and a smidge of intrepidness) is inspiring. BC Milano was *nothing* like the original Breakfast Club - but it was no less interesting and inspiring. AND it engendered two more cities in the mix, potentially, as the vibe spreads.
That in mind, four particular invites I want to draw your attention to this week:
Barcelona - first time ever!
Portland, Maine - back for the second time.
Las Vegas - indefatigable (and now on WhatsApp)
Melbourne - first ever APAC Breakfast Club!
Tell your friends in those towns, and I will too.
per Michele’s post: "🦞Attention Portland, Maine area 🦞… Thursday, October 3rd at 8am. The Salt Yard, Portland What will we discuss? Who will be there? Who knows. And that’s the beauty of it."
Per Steph’s Post:
“Breakfast Club is happening tomorrow in Vegas. Please join me if you live here, or if you are visiting! 8a @ PublicUs (1126 E. Fremont St.) ✨ Join the new Whatsapp for a weekly reminder about breakfast every Thursday: https://lnkd.in/g5sMNNiQ”
Per Nicole’s post
“Well, Barcelona, it's finally time we get our own Breakfast Club - so Kevin Maguire & I are co-hosting one next Wednesday, 2/10, at 9:30 am at Egg Lab 🥚. Join us. Tell your BCN friends to join us. Looking forward to seeing new faces, this gal needs strat friends in her analogue vicinity.
And finally, per Josh’s post:
Gliding into the slipstream of Ben Dietz’s Breakfast Club, Celeste Blewitt MBus (ACM), Steph Clarke and I are kicking off the Melbourne chapter. Join us Friday Oct 4 at the long table at The StandardX, Melbourne - no agenda beyond an opportunity to meet someone new and maybe challenge some perceptions. Almost iced coffee season too. All are welcome. Breakfast Club is born out of Ben’s [SIC] sletter (h/t Blackbird Spyplane) which is link heaven https://lnkd.in/g9BqdUPk
So….
See you there. And if not this week, another one soon. Read on and share, meantime.

☕️🧇🍳 Breakfast Club Events Last Week:
Breakfast Club PDX - September 24, 2024
Per Nina’s Post: This week at Proud Mary we discussed the boundaries gen z has with work, and the unrealistic expectations of entry level positions. Listening to audio books vs. reading books. The state of agencies in Portland, specifically Wieden + Kennedy ans Swift. And surprising did not discuss the election or anything politics.
As always, it was a pleasure spending my Tuesday morning with new and old friends Brittni Busch Lainya Magaña Amy Marsh Paul Dillon and co-host Scott Crane.
Join us any Tuesday at 9am at Proud Mary. You are always welcome ☕️
Breakfast Club Paris - September 24, 2024
per Karla’s post: The second edition of the Paris chapter of THE BREAKFAST CLUB© went out smoothly despite the rainy weather with Ben Dietz's encouragement & Lisa Ono's support ! At our HQ Kawa.Coffee
It was an energizing and heartfelt get-together with a dynamic group of professionals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities, representing industries like culture, banking, fintech, business consulting, fashion and creative strategy.
We shared a natural & spontaneous exchange about music and culture evolution, where we all got to share our thoughts and ideas about the future of performing arts.
We also got to discuss about the importance of sharing ideas in a community as a growing professional and the daily hidden gems of an inspiration-filled city like Paris.
The BC attendees got candid about the scares & rewards of taking a professional leap of faith to chase your "calling", and how beautiful it is to be able to turn one's passion into a living.
This edition of the Breakfast Club we got to share a great cup of coffee and a lovely talk with Boris Masip, Catarina Carvalho, Enzo Ungauer, Nina Švihrová and on a second round of caffeine with Iria Chover and Célina Bailly.
The next one will be held on Tuesday, October 15th at 9AM Kawa.Coffee, 22 Avenue Victoria 75001 PARIS.
Looking forward to many more enriching conversations and connections!
Everyone is invited, especially you ! 🥐
Breakfast Club Milano - September 25, 2024
per Charla’s post: Thirty-three inspiring creative humans joined us at Max Bosio's Nascent Design studio for a caffè, brioche, and early morning convo.
We discussed various topics, including the presence of ex-pats in Milan — today, we had a few New York transplants join us. We touched on the current state of the fashion industry and whether BRAT is still relevant. Service design and strategy emerged as key points, along with the ever-popular subject of AI, highlighting how companies can benefit from partnering with external agencies to enhance efficiency. We also explored sustainable cleaning products with the founder Alessandra Bestetti from POOLITO SRL SB, the benefits of decluttering, and the power of minimalism.
Additionally, we talked about the Tokyo Creative Salon, the potential to bring the Breakfast Club to Tokyo, and the current situation in Milan regarding crime rates. We highlighted community-building, networking events, and food culture, which constantly surfaces in conversations—especially when Italians are present!
We also celebrated Taylor Fritz and Matteo Berrettini strutting the runway for HUGO BOSS at #MilanFashionWeek. Other topics included podcasts, documentaries, and the upcoming opening of The Wilde in Milan, which we eagerly anticipate. Areas such as #art, #fashion,#music, and #marketing consistently surface in our discussions, and of course, we can’t forget to mention mutual friends around the world and having #BreakfastClub around the globe.
The crew this week was me the OG Ben Dietz Max Bosio Moritz Gaudlitz Giorgio Bartoli Fabrizio Consoli Alessandro Innocenti Brendon DuVall Camilla Crudeli Glenda Ghignatti Camilla F. Federico Ferrari Stefano Tei Lullu Brandt Sakamoto Kiyoe Alessandra Bestetti Antonella testi Gianpaolo Alfano Amal Avramides Andrea Bertoncello Joseph Mathieu Bonomo Alessandro Carnicella Margherita Castiglioni Elizabeth De Filippo-Jones Hanna Ekeroth Licia Florio Michele Galetto Sarah AMP Goethals Angelo M. Marco Micheli Sofija Nikolic Filippo Pecora Marta Pettenuzzo Maurizio Ribotti Alessandro Simonetti Riccardo Trabattoni Michelle Torres & Sara Bacce.
Thanks again for everyone coming out and joining in on the conversation.
We do this every month in Milan at a different location. You're invited, and everyone else is too, so bring a posse or show up solo.
Breakfast Club London - September 25, 2024
Per Lauren’s post:
Gaulier students or Creative strategists?*
Take a seat with us 🤩
This week we talked: human intelligence with Ai support tools, starting over, international living, misogynistic meet ups, celebrity strategists, being shameless, the best groups in town, creative check ins and much more.
As always, everyone’s invited especially you.
*The latter, but this does look very drama class 😄
Breakfast Club Miami - September 25, 2024
Per Jeff’s Post: Brandweek wasn't the only event popping off this week.
Breakfast Club Miami did our regular Wednesday with a host of new faces and solid conversations. What makes breakfast special in my mind is how it allows for great people to come together all before the haul of the workday begins.
This week, we were: Rachelle Elbaz, Daniel Allen Cohen, Justin Elliott, Daniel Feldstein, Sarween Salih, Bill Spector, Daniel Altmann, Danielle Salzedo, Erika G., Jennifer Styles, Arnel San Pedro, MBA, Natalie H., Teejay Hughes, Danny Bettan, Edgar Saakyan, and Alina Sushchenko!

Breakfast Club Mexico City Report 9.25.24!
Per Steve’s Post: The pre-pandemic tyranny of open-office floor plans // meet cutes during commercial shoots // Boston’s dirty snow mountain // the apparent shortage of AirBnbs in Mexico for the holidays, better start booking now // off-grid horseback camping along the Upsallata Pass // the lore of 80s tv shows // how show intros used to tell you the backstory // how the CIA created a secret attack helicopter to kill Muammar Gaddafi (Airwolf) // how if you missed an episode you would never see it again // the myth making of John Hughes // the impossibility of Ferris Bueller in the age of cell phones // the Schwarzenegger documentary // the Stallone documentary // how Schwarzenegger trickled Stallone into starring in Stop or My Mom Will Shoot! // Last Action Heroes, the book // how to buy a house in Mexico City // how to renovate a house in Mexico City // how agencies tend to have such rigid role-based jobs which, ugh, so little creativity in the business of creativity!
This morning we were a garrulous group of five, including Mark Holthusen, Gemma Craven, Sarah, and Daniel Meyer! We do this every wednesday 8am @ Lardo!
Breakfast Club Downton Brooklyn Report: 9.26.24
per Kat’s post: I love a small breakfast crew, when you can easily move from a conversation from left to right, listen with intent and chime in to all the right moments. Today we talked about the Americanization of immigrant names, the benefits of hybrid work, the bougie smells of some co-working spaces, creative hubs that actually feel exciting (looking at you WSA) and the demise of Soho House, side projects as mainstream attractions, the future of care in health (+ the elderly), and more.
Thanks to Piers Fawkes for hosting today and for the thoughtful conversation between Emily Ludolph Cara Cannella Eason Yang Mai Nguyen Rachel Bonsignore Steph Clarke Jill Meisner Thomas Murphy Berton Ridley [and me]
Join us in October every Thursday at 8:30am at The Ace Hotel / Atelier Ace at As You Are
Breakfast Club Cincy Report: 240926
Per The Rare Beast’s Post: In the spirit of all the fashion weeks going on...The it accessory? Eyeglasses. Fortunate for you, this is not a pre-requisite for participation.
Some Topics of Note — Art and the institution, the mediocre gaze, How vinyl gave Travis Scott an edge, writing fiction, public persona and community building, the enduring pleasure of jug bands, Zaha Hadid's Contemporary Arts Center as a building satisfied with itself, music as a powerful and modern communication tool, the resurgence of IRL micro-communities, micro-machines, how cynicism is easier than creating something hard...
Join us every week Mom 'n 'em Coffee Camp Washington | 8:30am for inspired, creative, conversation. All are welcome.
Thanks to this week's awesome crew: CYNTHIA MARSHALL, Todd Lipscomb, John Young, Edward Wright, Theo Erasmus & Emmit Jones
Whew. That was a lot. But never enough! Til next week… see you at Breakfast.
