Breakfast Clubbing #27:
Week of 14th Oct: BC is ON in Paris, PDX, Wmsburg, CDMX, Hamptons, Miami, Manhattan, DTBK, Cincy, Vegas + Philly and Melbourne return, New Jersey (SOMa) debuts, SF announces and 200+ friends last week
Wow. What a week of BC.
Between HUGE turnout in Paris and LA (the latter happening simultaneously in two different parts of town, no less), plus 10x recurring meet-ups going strong, Miami riding out the effects of Hurricane Milton and newcomers in Amsterdam, its really feeling like BC is building a head of steam. A huge thanks to EVERYONE who’s joined in recent weeks - be it an IRL event, the Linkedin group or as a subscriber here to the newsletter. And an even BIGGER THANKS to my intrepid co-hosts, who put themselves out there to welcome new friends and old last week. It’s easier than you might otherwise imagine, no?!
We only grow from here. Philly (a home away from home for me) and Melbourne (a bucket list visit) both return this week. The tri-state footprint expands with Breakfast Club New Jersey in SOMa (South Orange / Maplewood for the unitiated), and details about the long-awaited launch of a San Francisco edition are revealed. All the information below, as per usual.
And: even though there’s no LA Breakfast this week, I’m stoked to point you to this Firehouse Salon LA at the UCLA Mathias Botanical Gardens features BC OG Ian Edgar, Tediophobes Founder / Creative Director Ashley Pollak, and Julian @ Open Sesame Media among others. It’s free with RSVP here for the in-person event, and there’s a Linkedin Stream event if you’re not in LA for Tech Week (like me). Check it out.
The Breakfast Esprit de Corps:
* Everyone’s invited - especially you.
* Feel free to share, bring friends, colleagues, family, anyone.
* No agenda, no required buy-in, no RSVP. And no pitches.
* Everyone pays their own way.
* Everyone is welcome to subscribe. Join the Linkedin group here: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/14449223/

Breakfast Club Reports: Week of October 7th
Breakfast Club PDX - October 7, 2024
This week at Proud Mary we had a very excited, very young guest (Izzy) who had a lot to share about her cupcake for breakfast. We were lucky to have three new friends Chelsea Place, shannon holt and Tamara Deike join us (Scott Crane, Mark Mulder and Kara Place) for their first Breakfast Club experience.
We chatted about the joy of setting up an office outside of your home, the adjustments of moving in with your partner and building community at different stages of your life. We went deep on some murder cases in small towns alongside everyone's obsession with the Great British Bake Off (I'm on the fence here).
We assessed what it takes to be an internet stalker and how to put up boundaries with people in your life that you don't want to see anymore. To end, we discussed my favorite topic of the moment: Dyslexic Thinking -- did you know your can add "Dyslexic Thinking" as one of your skills on Linkedin? 🤓
Join us every Tuesday at Proud Mary at 9am. Everyone is welcome
Breakfast Club Miami - 10/9/24
per Jeff’s post: The forecasters got it right: there was a break in the weather that allowed Breakfast Club Miami to gather as we always do.
The conversation stayed Miami-centric: the city has many foodies, but does Miami have a food scene that supports it, CPG breakthroughs, and the white space to be found there, as well as low-cost digital ads, and more.
We were: Vishal Sapra, Sarween Salih, Rachelle Elbaz, Bill Spector and Craig Grassi!

Also tasting pecan pie for the first time two years ago, the gluten-free nut cake at #publicus, walkable cities and how #vegas is more walkable than Houston, what #donorrelations is, what #communityfoundations do, how much room there is for technological advancement in data management in medicine, how car accidents change the way you drive (and your life!), and good samaritans who stop to help. Breakfast Club LA - East Side Report 10.11.24
Per Michael’s Post: Thanks to everyone who came out. Felt like we had around 20+ people swing through? Nearly everyone’s first time at Breakfast Club East Side LA
Great chats and laughs were had, connections made, LinkedIn info traded.
This will continue to be a monthly thing…. I want to do some programming, and I think people would love to hear what you have to say about future of consumer and it pertains to biosciences etc etc... trying to figure out angles to make that happen.
Breakfast Club LA - West Side Report 10.11.24
Per Scott’s Post: The second Venice #BreakfastClub is in the books, and it was another amazing event, with more than three dozen people coming out to chat and chew. Great group, great energy and I'm so psyched that this little thing Ben Dietz encouraged Kirsten Ludwig, Anita Schillhorn van Veen and myself to start on LA's Westside is taking off and soaring on its own momentum.
This only works because of the collective power of all who show up and make it real, so thank you to everyone who took time out of your day to spend with us. It really brought me so much joy to see you all and to feel the energy on that patio.
Save Friday Nov. 8 as the date for our next Breakfast Club gathering, 9 am at The Rose in Venice. Everyone is welcome, so spread the word!

Breakfast Club Amsterdam Report: October 12th, 2024
Per Sheila’s Post: Hey folks, our first edition of BC in Amsterdam yesterday was lovely at Uncommon cafe.
As the rainy season rolls in, we kicked things off by sharing what makes us bond with this city and the daily routines that keep our engines running. Next, we dived into some of the cool and quirky experiences we've had in the world of galleries and advertising. We also explored how our life journeys inspire different choices, sparking new perspectives. Plus, some of us were buzzing about the upcoming creative coding events!
Our next one will be October 25th from 8am at Bakhuys near Weesperplein. Let me know if you're interested in co-hosting 🌞 Bon appetit!
Thank you for coming - Carmen Torné / Eduardo Solana / Yang Wang / Donna Manderson. Thanks for your support Ben Dietz!
And that, my friends is it. Looking forward to seeing you at breakfast to talk about it all. And if not this week, another one soon.
Ben
Get that bucket list moving Ben, we'll show you around the best places to eat and play in Melbourne. See you back in BK next month.
