Breakfast Clubbing #30
Week of 11.4.24: BC is ON in PDX, Wmsburg, CDMX, Hamptons, Miami, San Francisco. Manhattan, DTBK, Cincy, Vegas, London, Jersey, and LA(West) Plus: Vienna! Soon again: Philly, Portland ME and more...
Hi all.
Last week was a doozy. The largest ever showing in Williamsburg, a big gathering in Milan I didn’t even know about until after the fact (which is fine with me!), a standout debut in SF immediately turned into a weekly recurring, and a guest hosts stepped in to make Paris, Hamptons, and Downtown Brooklyn sing.
Which is to say, BC is really becoming a community. That was never the goal, per se, but I’m really happy about it - and I’m stoked to see where we can all take it together. To that end, a few quick spotlights:
Breakfast Club is coming to Vienna! ☕ 🥐
Per Carla’s post: The idea started in Brooklyn NYC and is now happening in various locations around the world.
The Breakfast Club is about bringing curious minds together to meet for coffee and spark interesting conversation.
I'm very excited to host the first edition in Vienna this November. Please drop me a message if you want to join (yes, you) so I can keep track of the numbers.
Know someone in Vienna who should come? Tag them!

The Café at Foyles, 107 Charing Cross Rd, London WC2H 0EBNo matter the location, the Breakfast Club’s ethos is rooted in the magic of in- person moments - varied voices AND an open table, where anyone is welcome to join

Breakfast Club Paris Report 29.10.24
Per Sarah’s post: Yesterday’s Fourth edition of the Paris chapter of Ben Dietz's BREAKFAST CLUB was a cozy get-together at Lactem coffee
We kicked off our day with inspiring discussion over great coffee with some self-made and #visionary professionals from the #AI, #fashion, #coaching, #marketing and #creative world.
This BC crew random conversation spanned from #networking culture in France vs. USA and how difficult it is to expend your network in Paris (big Kudos to CGBB - Cercle des Gens Bien & Bienveillants to build up an amazing concept!), to the importance of being curious to nurture our perspectives.
And last but not least, we discussed the beauty of #connecting with like-minded people, kind and open-minded, as you never suspect the #opportunity a new contact will bring to your life
Thanks to Alexandre FAVRE Tony Infantino Sarah Recht Martine Leherpeur Emma Grace M. Daphné Garcia Delporte Daphné Delporte for joining and sharing this special moment with us!
Stay tuned for the next edition to come with the amazing BC ladies Lisa Ono and Karla Rodríguez C.!
Breakfast Club PDX – 10.29.2024
Per Scott’s Post: This week at Breakfast Club saw a handful of new friends along with a solid showing from steady regulars.
We learned about broken hiring processes as a new norm that seems to be a shared experience for many, while we also celebrated some new opportunities landed for friends among us. At my end of the the table we talked about the evolving Portland cultural landscape, why so many festivals are dying while others are thriving, the W+K and Nike diasporas, the gutting of a legendary brand, and the enduring value of a consistent side hustle.
And in what we think was a Breakfast Club first (Ben Dietz will have to verify) Amy Marsh and Brian Mark discovered they looked so familiar to each other not from the world of work, mutual friends, or around town but from... Jewish Summer Camp in Wisconsin. We celebrated that too.
Nina Sers, what did I miss at your end of the table?
We do this 9am every Tuesday morning at Proud Mary. No agenda, no talking points, and everyone is invited –– especially you. Hope to see you next time!
☕ Breakfast Club Milan Report - 30.10.24 🥐
We had another fantastic turnout today! Thanks to Antonella testi and Flora Coluccia at A&C and Flora & Co. for graciously hosting us in their beautifully cozy studio space in Milan. 🌟
Today's discussions were rich and engaging. They focused on key topics, including the upcoming 🇺🇲 US Election 🇺🇲 and its potential impact on Europe. There's a palpable sense of uncertainty as we await the outcome. One point raised was whether the election might affect hiring processes across various sectors. 🤔
We also explored the current state of the fashion industry, particularly the challenges facing the luxury sector. We asked questions about recovery: when will it happen, and what strategies will major players adopt moving forward?
LinkedIn came up. We reflected on who is using the platform, why they are doing so, and how they leverage its features. It seems to have turned into a mix of Facebook-like interactions and job boasting and seeking. Is LinkedIn the best channel for communicating Breakfast Club dates, or would a WhatsApp broadcast be more effective?
🤖 Artificial intelligence was another hot topic, with discussions on its applications across different industries. The potential of AI continues to inspire innovative thinking among our members.
The value of in-real-life (IRL) meetups like Breakfast Club is always highlighted, as attendees appreciate the chance to connect beyond the digital realm. We also touched on the benefits of digital detox and taking time for ourselves.
On a lighter note, stories were shared about trekking in Nepal, playing basketball in Italy, and our thoughts on the Netflix series "Starting 5."
A special mention goes to the incredible artwork adorning the studio walls, created by Aleandro Roncarà.
Last, we emphasized the importance of living life to the fullest and making meaningful connections.
We look forward to our next BC, which Alessandro Carnicella will host at the Brand Partners Group studio on December 11th.
Remember: Everyone is invited, especially you!
