Breakfast Clubbing #37
W/c Jan 6: ON in Burlington, PDX, Miami, Hamptons, Wmsburg, CDMX, SF, Manhattan, Cincy, SoMa. PLUS Lugano launches! CES edition in Vegas! And Jan dates for Hudson, Vienna, LA, Philly and Portland ME.
Happy New Year, everybody.
It being a slightly weird post-holiday week I’ll keep it short: we’re BACK.
What I love and appreciate about this Breakfast Club community (over 1500 of you now subscribe globally) is the intense enthusiasm and sense of possibility it foments. It’s inspired, and inspiring.
Case in point, this Wednesday we’ll have our first BC in Switzerland - a direct offshoot of Charla, Moritz and Giorgio’s Milanese edition (just closer to the Alps). Per Elettra’s Post:
Lugano friends! Camilla F. and I are hosting the first episode of Lugano’s Breakfast Club. Join us on January 8th! As founder Ben Dietz said, “Everyone’s invited, especially you.” Thanks Charla Noel Caponi for showing us the way with the Milan edition, Elizabeth De Filippo-Jones for introducing me in the first place.
Consider also Zach Polakoff’s monthly BC Burlington, VT edition - which happened for the second time this AM - and was packed out in spite of not appearing in Breakfast Clubbing. See Zach’s recap at the end of this. It’s our only Monday edition currently - but if that’s what works best for Vermonters, so be it. I’m here to support. Send friends to the next one!
Or, consider Thursday’s special edition of BC Vegas for CES - in which a four-way confab of regulars from LA (East), LA (West) and Miami will join
for one week only. So cool. Send friends to that one too!Not to mention weekly breakfasts back in PDX, Miami, Hamptons, Wmsburg, CDMX, SF, Manhattan and SoMa (info follows!)
And Jan dates for LA (West), Philly, Portland ME & Hudson - with many more to come. Read on.
Finally - a few photos close things out this week from our first Breakfast Club Happy Hour Holiday Cocktails in December, which was a fun experiment I hope we’ll get to repeat sometime soon. 20+ folks - mostly regulars - joined for some special Boilermakers courtesy of Empirical Spirits and it was … kinda just like Breakfast (with booze): easy, unfussy and fun. And judging by Emmit’s post about a special “Breakfast for Dinner” in Cincy this month, it might have inspired some similar fun elsewhere too.
Which is the idea. Everyone’s invited - and invited to host - especially you.
Looking forward to seeing you over breakfast sometime soon, then. Or drinks!

Breakfast Club Event Recaps
Breakfast Club Burlington Report 1.6.25
Per Zach’s note: "It was 9ºF. Our table of 10 was packed . We all ate big breakfasts. We spoke about the Bensonhurst Brooklyn legend Bobby “The Animal”, going bowling in a Burlington church basement, setting up bathroom darkrooms, which activities are more fun than axe throwing, what hospitality insiders’ signature cocktails are, building bookshelves with ladders, and much more! Next one Feb 10!"

That’s all for this edition. See you at breakfast! And if not this week, another one soon.
